Rock Scholars Community Scholarship - Terms and Conditions
eligibility
The Rock Scholars Community Scholarship is open to any musician or performer aged 11 to 17 who is a permanent resident in Western Australia at the time of applying.
As with all Band Program participants, applicants must be able to sing or play their instrument well enough to play with other people, and Rock Scholars teaching staff will assess your playing before inviting you to join a band.
Scholarship program participation
The successful applicants will be granted entry to the Rock Scholars Band Program for one full year. The Band Program is aligned with the state school year which means it runs across 4 terms of ten weeks each, with each term guaranteed to end with an opportunity to perform in one our legendary end of term gigs.
If you are invited to join the band program your place is non-transferable, and may not be exchanged for cash.
MISSED REHEARSAL SESSIONS
If two or more band members are unable to attend a rehearsal session, and at least 24 hours notice is given to Rock Scholars, that rehearsal session will be re-scheduled.
If you (or your child) misses a rehearsal, that rehearsal may not be rescheduled and you will not be entitled to a credit. Rehearsals missed due to teacher absence or public holidays will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Rock Scholars takes its band program seriously and we work hard to ensure that when we put kids together in a band they work together, play together and stay together. When a student decides to withdraw from a band it can be very disruptive for the other members while we look for a replacement, and we appreciate receiving as much notice as possible if you're thinking of leaving Rock Scholars.
If you decide to leave the band program or you need to take a break without completing your full year, you may forfeit the remainder of your scholarship.
Privacy and permission
Rock Scholars will ask you for information about you, your music and your family when you apply for the scholarship, which may include personal information. This personal information will not be shared with any third party without your express permission unless required by law. You may see a copy of this personal information at any time on request.
By accepting a place in the band program you grant permission to Rock Scholars and its agents to use your name, pictures and music to promote its band program.
Any intellectual property, publishing rights or other benefit associated with your music will belong 100% to you.
